On May 23rd, we celebrated the dedication of our new Johannus organ at 4 p.m. with an Evensong followed by an organ recital by Kyle Ritter of The Cathedral of All Souls, Asheville.  Mr. Ritter played an eclectic program which showed off the many facets of our new instrument, playing many unusual, but beautiful pieces.  Included were works by American and English composers as well as two lesser known works by JS Bach and a grand work by Charles Marie Widor to close the program.  We were thrilled that the event was well-attended and we had many visitors from several area, as well as out of town, churches for this event.  I hope the interest we generated can be carried into a regular recital series.  Many thanks to Miriam Dixon, the members of the church, the choir and their spouses who provided us with a wonderful reception after the recital.
