SPRING UNITED

THANK OFFERING (UTO)

                                    April 11

The United Thank Offering is a very special opportunity for Episcopalians to deepen and strengthen their understanding and practice of prayer.  The offering begins with individuals who express their recognition of the presence of God in their daily lives, and their thanksgiving for this presence, by saying a prayer and placing a coin in their United Thank Offering Blue Box.  The coins from throughout the Episcopal Church are united annually into one great offering – from which grants go to support new mission work all around the globe.  Grants for capital needs for building and repairs, development funds, loan funds, and mission outreach programs help to reinforce our understanding and participation as Partners in Mission with other Christians at home and abroad.

The daily discipline of dropping a coin in “the little blue box” by not only the women of the church, but also husbands and children is an important action in the work of Christ throughout the world. Ingatherings are held twice a year – spring and fall.  Our spring ingathering will be on April 11.  Blue boxes and envelopes for the offering can be found in the Narthex.

Simple purpose of UTO:  “Given in thankfulness for the everyday blessings of life … used to provide blessings for others.”
